In typical “domestic abuse” fashion, President of the United States, George W. Bush, has already instilled fear in Nancy Pelosi, and she has promised not to impeach Bush.

What CIA facts he has on Pelosi will never be known, but this is the Ruling Right Mentality still running on Cheney’s wish. The people lost voice when Pelosi backed down.

Cindy Sheehan, again.

Now almost 40 days into her fast supporting war resisters and their families, Sheehan, though weak, announced that she is offering land she bought in Crawford near Bush’s ranch as a refuge for U.S. troops who desert to resist the war in Iraq.

And what about that fast?

When I see Lanny Davis, who served as a Special Counsel to Clinton, on TV I am overcome with the urge to cancel my cable. I just can’t stand the man.

Yet here I am agreeing with him about the state of the far-left blogosphere.

Now, in the closing days of the Lieberman primary campaign, I have reluctantly concluded that I was wrong. The far right does not have a monopoly on bigotry and hatred and sanctimony. Here are just a few examples (there are many, many more anyone with a search engine can find) of the type of thing the liberal blog sites have been posting about Joe Lieberman:

On “Lieberman vs. Murtha”: “as everybody knows, jews ONLY care about the welfare of other jews; thanks ever so much for reminding everyone of this most salient fact, so that we might better ignore all that jewish propaganda [by Lieberman] about participating in the civil rights movement of the 60s and so on” (by “tomjones,” posted on Daily Kos, Dec. 7, 2005).

But the issue is not just emotional outbursts by these usually anonymous bloggers. A friend of mine just returned from Connecticut, where he had spoken on several occasions on behalf of Joe Lieberman. He happens to be a liberal antiwar Democrat, just as I am. He is also a lawyer. He told me that within a day of a Lamont event–where he asked the candidate some critical questions–some of his clients were blitzed with emails attacking him and threatening boycotts of their products if they did not drop him as their attorney. He has actually decided not to return to Connecticut for the primary today; he is fearful for his physical safety.

Now, I’ll readily admit that the right wing isn’t pure and clean on this. We have our versions of the haters, but I don’t think they are as numerous or as organized as what we are seeing out of the Kossaks or the DUers. I scan these sites a lot, and I can attest to a frightening pathology that extends beyond debate and into fantasized (or realized) violence in the ‘real’ world.

The idea of intimidating all who do not support the party should evoke memories of a darker time in Europe. Let me be crystal clear on this – I AM NOT SAYING THEY ARE NAZIS. However, I AM suggesting that this path will lead to tactics and parties that will be functionally similar to the Nazi system.

Politics is suppose to be about the arena of ideas. Our system depends on free debate and the absence of physical intimidation. Should this sort of activism continue, our foundations will continue to erode.

In my one millionth reference to Rome, the Republic was finished the moment the mob figured out they could stifle the opposition with the threat of violence.

However, the fact that someone like Lanny Davis has recognized the problem gives me a little hope.

Cindy Sheehan is back.

Under the blazing Texas sun, Sheehan and more than 50 demonstrators again marched a mile and a half toward Bush’s ranch, stopping at a roadblock. As Secret Service agents stood silently, Sheehan held up her California driver’s license and said she wanted to meet with the president.

“It doesn’t say my new address, but I do live here now,” said Sheehan, who lives in Berkeley, Calif., and recently bought land in Crawford for war protests. “My name is Cindy and Bush killed my son.”

On one hand, I’m sympathetic for this poor woman’s loss. Burying a child is unimaginable.

But enough is a freakin’nough!

She’s lost her son, her husband, her family, and the better part of her mind. And the anti-war crowd seems perfectly content to capitalize on her anguish for their cause. The very worst of this whole, sorry charade will be seen a few months after Bush is out of office and Cindy’s phone falls quiet. Where will she be when she’s no longer useful and all of this attention and adoration dries up?

I really feel sorry for her. If any of her family still loves her, they really need to inject themselves into this mess.

Dan Rather – Still Insane

Why are we still listening to Dan Ra^ther? The old nutcase resurfaced from his ‘retirement’ to offer up some learned opinions on O’Reilly. It seems in Ratherville, the pro-Bush people have a maniacal, raving hatred for the other side far beyond anything reciprocated by the Left. I guess Dan doesn’t spend much time on Kos or the DU.

He’s free to think what he wants, but it certainly reveals his perspective while he sat in the anchor chair at whatever obscure network he used to work for. I wouldn’t mind media bias so much if they would just admit it.

Nice to see that Britain has their share of whacked-out moonbats.

The Respect MP George Galloway has said it would be morally justified for a suicide bomber to murder Tony Blair.

In an interview with GQ magazine, the reporter asked him: “Would the assassination of, say, Tony Blair by a suicide bomber – if there were no other casualties – be justified as revenge for the war on Iraq?”

Mr Galloway replied: “Yes, it would be morally justified. I am not calling for it – but if it happened it would be of a wholly different moral order to the events of 7/7. It would be entirely logical and explicable. And morally equivalent to ordering the deaths of thousands of innocent people in Iraq – as Blair did.”

Can we trade out moonbats to Britain for Tony Blair? I’m sure he’d make a great Senator or Cabinet Secretary.

For a few days now, the Lefty Blogosphere has been salivating over a TruthOut.org story claiming that Darth Rove had been indicted by the Grand Jury. Certainly the perp walk would happen by Monday.

Then maybe by Tuesday.

Uh, how about Wednesday?

Today, Tim Blair links to the latest update from TruthOut.

The time has now come, however, to issue a partial apology to our readership for this story. While we paid very careful attention to the sourcing on this story, we erred in getting too far out in front of the news-cycle. In moving as quickly as we did, we caused more confusion than clarity. And that was a disservice to our readership and we regret it.

As such, we will be taking the wait-and-see approach for the time being. We will keep you posted.

As Mr. Blair points out…”Ahead of the news cycle but true; nice. Incidentally, that “wait-and-see approach”? It’s a fairly useful news-gathering method. Just a tip.
