She’s now at ten, and the pushing will begin soon. Lot’s of prep going on in the room. I think the show is about to start.

Diane is now at 8 CM. The Pitocin is certainly accelerating things now. The contractions look like little half-sine waves on the monitor, almost mathematical in thier precision. The Doctor is calling (optimistically) for 7:15.

I’m guessing Thursday….

Okay, things are starting to come along a little. Diane is now at 5-6 dilation, so maybe this will happen today. Contractions are steady.

This has been a much better experience here, and not just because of the internet access, which is great. The hospital staff here has been more attentive, and the facilities are much better.

Just got the word that they are going to give her Pitocin. That should get it going.

Happiness is an Epidural

Things were moving along very quickly there, but now we’re slowing down. Diane has the epidural, and her disposition has improved markedly. She consented to a picture for her fans.

Contractions are steady, and things are going well. More later.

Things have been very busy here. We are in the birthing room, and I have pictures but can’t upload them right this minute. Diane is fine. She has the epidural in place and is feeling better. As happened last time, they are concerned about the speed of the delivery. She’s going very fast. Contractions are coming three or four minutes apart.

More when I have a moment.

We’re about to be moved to the Birthing room after filling out a mountain of forms. Once we get there, I’ll be able to unpack and get some more pictures, much to my wife’s dismay. Gotta document things properly. Contractions are starting now, and she’s certainly feeling them. Epidural as a topic has been mentioned more than a few times in the past half hour. More soon.

Just got done taking Diane for an hour walk around the hospital, to move things along. The Doctor is here now to check her, and low and behold, she just broke her water. She’s dilated to three. Things are starting to move along.

Diane isn’t too thrilled with the whole BirthBlogging, at least the photography elements. I had to replace the picture below, so here it is. Not much to report. She’s watching a DVD, I’m geeking out on the net. They may move us to the birthing room in a few hours. Until then, we wait on the inducement drugs to kick in.

We have an IV

In what might be one of the most mundane posts of the day…Diane now has an IV. It’s been really slow going here, and I personally am happy for the net access. They have a plethora of C Sections going on today, so we’re lower priority at the moment.

But blood has been drawn. I guess that makes us official.
