Anyone Need A Cat?
We’ve had two cats since we moved back from California in 1999. We adopted them as kittens from a shelter. More accurately, we set out to adopt one cat we saw on a leaflet at the grocery store, and ended up with his cage-mate as well. Soft-hearted suckers that we are…
Emily and Ramses are now seven years old, spayed and neutered, de-clawed, and generally well-tempered cats.
Unfortunately, Emily has not adjusted well to our young children, and I think it is time to try to find her a home. It kills me to think about a shelter, even a no-kill shelter, but I don’t know what else to do. When you take on a pet as a responsibility, you can’t just lightly toss it aside.
Emily is perpetually stressed, to the point where she has stopped using the litter box. I can’t live with the mess, not with two children in the house. So it is time to find her a home. Hopefully, in a new environment she’ll revert to being the cat she was.
