Amish Forgiveness

I really don’t understand this reaction any more than I understand that of those in the middle-east when they are “offended” by drawings. But, in spite of what this man did to the family members of a close-knit community, they responded with love and forgiveness.
Which group is more civilized? No “in-duh-viduals” rose up and protested by attacking the man’s wife and kids, or kidnapping people, or burning embassies. The community came out and mourned with the family of the killer.
Sensational.

Now what was the name of that religion of peace again? Islam?
For something completely different -
It is only the strength of those who are not Amish by which those Amish survive. That is why we protect them, honor them, and respect their wishes. The press was not allowed whithin miles of the funerals. Those people do not want to be involved with our troubles. It is the strength of true civilization (i.e. those who are civilized) that we respect people who obey the law but wish to live apart.
Would any Islamic state allow the Amish to exist as we do?
