Some Good News
August 21st, 2006 | by Todd W |When I left Atlanta to move closer to my family, I left a lot of good things behind. One of them was my writing group. I was lucky to have a very strong group providing a great deal of mutual support and valuable criticism. Something like that is hard to replace.
Recently, I heard some very good news. One of those writers is on the verge of what might be a major success. I don’t have permission to use her name here, so I won’t. Her fantasy novel (which is quite good) attracted the attention of a major publisher (three letters, and might begin with one of the letters between ’s’ and ‘u’). She attended a writer’s conference and submitted some chapters to various editors in attendance, which resulted in this contact.
Some time passed while she finished the book. When she informed the editor that it was ready, he wanted to see it immediately.
This is more than just passing interest.
So, here’s to my friend and her future success. I can’t wait to see where this might lead.

Wow! That IS some good news. I’m excited, and I don’t even know the chick. You’re a pretty decent friend, Toddmeister. Her life must be a tad emptier without you around.
Congrats on a hellava blogsite. It’s nice to know that if I have a question on a subject, this is one of the places I can check out first for some clarification. Everyone differs in one way or another about a lot of issues. The trick is being a clear enough communicator to where you can still educate someone else AND learn from them on the downstroke.
