What Is Working And Why That Upsets Some People
The latest terror plot introduces some interesting problems for some people.
By late 2005, the probe had expanded to involve several hundred investigators on three continents. They kept dozens of suspects under close surveillance for months, even as some of the plotters traveled between Britain and Pakistan to raise money, find recruits and refine their scheme, according to interviews with U.S. and European counterterrorism officials.
Precise details of the plot — how many planes, their destinations and the date — remain unknown. The shape of the operation changed regularly as the would-be bombers considered which transatlantic flights to target and prepared for a practice run, which was expected to take place in the next few days, U.S. law enforcement officials said.
Investigators eventually pieced together enough information from a blizzard of stakeouts, tips and wiretaps to make clear that something big was in the works, and that the plotters’ preparations were nearing an end.
Do you remember the recent hue and cry about wiretapping here in the States?

“APPROVE OF BUSH AUTHORIZING WIRETAPS TO FIGHT TERRORISM?”

Democrats insist they can be trusted on national security issues, yet the nutroot Left is presently celebrating Ned Lamont’s “victory” in Connecticut over Joe Lieberman as the death knell for those who wish to fight the War on Terror. Witness reactions like those documented here.
Bottom line: Joe Lieberbush lost. The message is spreading across the land that incumbents who embrace the president are in serious trouble. And the Republicans needed to divert attention, to stop this meme in its tracks, and lo’ and behold we have our first terror alert that I can recall since the last election, and it’s our first ever Red Alert! What a coincidence!
It seems that the hard left is opposed to military action, opposed to wire tapping, opposed to imprisoning terror suspects, and even announcing big terror busts when the news just might overshadow a Democratic primary.
And finally, you have the good old MSM, with the most stunning idiocy this side of “Teh Crazy”®.
Kevin Corke: “Yeah well said because a lot of people here are going to be asking the question, not only today but in the days to come, if, if the administration has known about this potential plot what was the hold up in getting the word out, especially domestically? Now right now they’re saying, Ann, that there’s no expectation that there will be domestic arrests related to this particular terror plot but still it does beg the question how long ago did they know of this and why are we just hearing about it right now?”
Gee, why didn’t the President tell us about this plot back when he first knew about it?
Because terrorists should be tipped off before we come and get them.
But don’t question their patriotism. Or common sense for that matter.
