Steve’s Hockey Corner
Another of the uncertainties going into the new NHL season that heightens the anticipation.
Andreychuk re-signs with Tampa. It is somehow rewarding to see players older than ME still in the NHL.
Heatly, Hossa swap teams. A fascinating move, benefitting both teams. I feal for the guy, but one could look at this and question the logic of Heatly’s punishment for killing a teammate compared to Bertuzzi’s for merely (heh) breaking an opponent’s neck.
Stephane Quintal retires after 16 season with, mainly, Montreal and Boston. A tough stay-at-home defenseman who overcame average skating skills. Not a goon per se, but the new rules would further limit his effectiveness.
And for our resident
goaltender…
Though not as amusing or insightful as Buccigross, Panger certainly knows what he’s talking about.
Does anyone out there get OLN, the Comcast network that will be showing NHL games? It is unlikely that I can afford the NHL Center Ice package. Fortunately, I still have the Wings on Channel 50 out of Detroit, as well as CBC from Canada. I wonder what others will be watching.
First preseason game, for the Wings anyway, is September 19.
BRING IT ON!
